I Love a Good Calendula Infusion by Allie Fallon
Let’s make a calendula infusion. My oldest daughter loves using this on her eczema. It has worked wonders for her. We love using a sweet almond oil, but you can really use any oil that’s best for your family as long as there is about a fourth to a half ratio of dried flowers to oil in the jar. You really want about an inch to a half-inch of oil covering the flowers to prevent any mold from producing while it’s steeping for six weeks. I did add a little extra flowers to mine, so I will be taking those out and repurposing those and a little spill because it’s very difficult to film with one hand. After this is in the jar, you want to let it steep on a sunny window sill for about four to six weeks. There is not a lot of sunshine in my house that morning, so I set it out on a sunny rock to absorb some sunshineānot long term. Once it’s finished steeping for six weeks, you can absolutely jar it and use it. I love adding a little vitamin E to mine for a little extra moisturizer.Ā Ā
